This waterfall is based on the mythological story of river Ganga being brought to the earth through the great efforts of King Bhagirath. Usage ‘Bhagirath Prayatna’ has evolved from this. When Ganga was being brought to the earth, the force was so much that it was feared that it would wash away the earth. King Bhagirath, therefore prevailed upon Lord Shiva to first take Ganga into his flocks (jata) and then allow it to flow downwards.
The waterfall appropriately named as “HAR HAR GANGE”, is designed based on foregoing concept. It is carved out of a rock with a height of 82 feet and width of 88 feet. It can accommodate about 350 persons (150 on the first floor and 200 in the pond). This creates as cascading effect of natural waterfall. Force of waterfall is so much that it circulates about 5 lakh litres of water per minute and is also useful in relieving physical pains and mental stress based on aqua-pressure principles.
